Best Time to Visit Pikey Peak

Where is Pikey Peak?

Pikey peak situated at an altitude of 4060 m is the highest hill of Solukhumbu region. Locally known as pikey danda, the name came from Sherpa clan deity. Local sherpa people worship their god on the month of July as Pikey Hlapchen Karbu.

What to See?

You will have a majestic views of Himalaya Mt. Everest, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Manaslu, Number, Gaurishankar, Karylung, Thamserku, Mera peak, Ama Dablam and Nuptse. These mountain sees spectacular during sunrise and sunset.

How to Trek?

The trail goes through the dense forest, rocky and sloppy hills. The jungle of rhododendron during spring season will bloom in full. The Buddhist old monasteries on the trail are another attractions.

You will have two option either to drive or to fly . If you choose a drive, it takes 4-5 hours to reach Dhap, the starting point of trek. If you choose a fly, it takes 30 minute to reach Phaplu airport from Kathmandu.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Drive to Dhap, Trek to Japre.
Day 03: Trek from Japre to Pikey Base Camp.
Day 04: Sunrise view at Pikey Peak, Trek to Loding.
Day 05: Trek from Loding to Junbesi, Visit Thubtencheling Monastery.
Day 06: Trek from Junbesi to Taksindu.
Day 07: Trek from Taksindu to Phaplu, Visit Chiwong Monastery.
Day 08: Flight from Phaplu to Kathmandu.
Day 09: Final departure to onward destination.
